Happy Birthday Harry

July 31 is Harry Potter's birthday. In honor of Harry's birthday, me and Ashley watched "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix."

Oh the magic.

I also tried to make a new cookie recipe that sounded so amazing!  You put Oreo's in the batter instead of chocolate chips.

This is what they are supposed to look like:

This is what mine looked like:

Nailed it.

My Favorite Small Town

Yesterday night, Ashley and I headed down to Ephraim to visit our friend Kiley.  It was so great.  I really miss living in that town.  Then I remember there is a Target 10 minutes from where I live, and I don't miss living there so bad.  But it's great to visit.

On the way there is a landmark statue thingy (I am totally drawing a blank as to what they are called) but me and Ashley, sorta as a joke, sorta out of curiosity, stopped and took a picture by it a few years ago when we were going to Snow college.  On the way down there yesterday, Ashley pulled over and we took another picture there because we're cool like that.

Yeah, this is when we set up the self timer and didn't look before hand what it was taking a picture of. Fail.

When we got there, we had Kiley meet us at Roy's (always Fat Jacks in my heart) and we got dinner.  Mmmmm. It was so amazingly delicious.

Then we walked around Snow College. I miss that place.

Ok, this house isn't on Snow campus, but it's my favorite house in Ephraim.  I just like it.

There was lots of talking and laughing.  We went later to get shaved ice that was also amazing because they put the cream on it.

Then we went to Kiley's house where me and Kiley played an intense game of air hockey. Which I won. Ya yeah! I was down by 4 with 4 minutes left and I totally made an underdog comeback. Then the game was tied 16 to 16 and the timer went off for the end of the game so we decided that the next score was going to win. And I scored.  It was awesome, I just have to say.

We also played pool.  Well, Ashley and Kiley played pool.  I watched.

This was the scenery on the ride home.  Isn't it beautiful?

Well, needless to say, it was a great weekend.

3 amigos soon to be reunited.

The worst thing about having to wake up early most days of the week is that on days that I don't have to wake up early, I do anyways.  It's rather annoying. Although, it is nice to be lying in bed and not have to get out.

This week has been a good week.  Worked.  Hung out with my sisters at the Nickelcity.  Went running up the canyon and increased my run to 5 miles (i'm slowly getting to half marathon status. slowly). Went to Texas Road House with Amberly.  Saw Crazy Stupid Love with my sister, and saw an old friend I hadn't seen for about 3 years.

I am very excited for today. Today I am headed down to Ephraim with Ashley.  I know, i know.  If you live in Utah you're probably thinking, "Why the heck are you excited to go to Ephraim?"  There are three reasons.

Reason number one: Fat Jacks Pizza!!! Ok, it's Roy's now, but it will always be Fat Jacks in my heart.  If you haven't tried this pizza, you haven't lived.  It's that good.

Reason number two:  I'll be visiting my old stomping ground.  My Alma Mater, if you will.  I graduated from Snow College, and that little town holds a lot of memories.

Reason number three:  This is the most important reason.  I get to see Kiley! I am so excited to see her! I don't get to see her that much, and I love when all three of us get to together.

We always pretended we hated each other.  I have no idea why we did that.  We really didn't.

I really love this picture.

Typical. Me doing retarded face, Kiley doing cheesy face, Ashley doing kissey face.

Fill in the Blank Friday!

1.   My favorite color is       brown.  Interesting, I know. I think it's more that my favorite base color (yes, you can have a favorite base color) is brown.  If I had to pick another it'd be turquoise.  Or mustard yellow.  Or grass green.  Or grey.  Ok, how can you really pick a favorite.

2.  My travel destination of choice is    anywhere.  Seriously, I love driving places.  Well, more accurately, being driven places so i can look out the window.

3.  My favorite  food is     dependant upon my mood.  Most of the time it's Italian.  Pasta.  Mmmmm.  But I also love hot wings (which sound amazing right now)

4.  My happy place is   my bed.  I love just laying on my bed.  It's not the comfiest bed in the world but it's mine.

5.  My favorite saying is      whatever you are, be a good one. abe lincoln.  wise man.

6.  My dirty little secret is      i haven't washed my water bottle in over a month.  nasty i know.  I always forget and i'm always using it so I never think to wash it.

7.  Something friends might say about me is that I      this is a great question.  I think I'm gonna do what Lauren did and ask for input.  So friends that read this blog, what do you say?

This Week.

No pictures of what I ate this week, ha.

Top to Bottom, Left To Right:

  • Went to Olive Garden with Ashley.  I was excited that I got the lights to blur while the rest was in semi-focus.
  • HARRY POTTER!!!!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!!! It was so good.
  • My little sister Aubrey now knows how to ride a two wheeler (she's growing up!)  We rode our bikes to the elementary school and played on the swings.
  • Went to Nickel City with my sisters.
  • I went running in the canyon and Amberly roller bladed by me.
  • Border's is going out of business.  I went there to try and get an amazing deal, but they were only 10% off which off of their prices for books isn't that great.
  • My outfit today.  Kinda liked the combination.
Project 365.

What does your handwriting say about you?

Working at the library, I come across a lot of interesting (and not so interesting) books.  Yesterday someone had turned in a book about analyzing handwriting and so I checked it out.

This is the book:

Today at my other job was spent analyzing my handwriting and my co-workers handwriting.  Mostly without their knowledge, I'd just look at it and think, "Hmmmm. . . she slants to the right. Interesting. . ."

So, if you want to know what your handwriting says about you, here's a little way to tell. (I have no idea if this is accurate, but it's cool none the less)

THE SLANT:

A right slant (////) signals one who responds strongly to emotional situations. They are caring, warm and outgoing-- their heart rules their mind.
A vertical slant (llll) writer tries to keep their emotions in check-- mind rules their heart.
A left slant writer (\\\\) will conceal their emotions and is observed as cold and indifferent.

THE SIZE:

The size of the writing indicates the writer's desire to be noticed.  A large size likes to be noticed and stands out in a crowd.  A medium size is adaptable and fits into a crowd.  Small is introspective and does not seek attention, while very small is private and stays out of the limelight.

THE BASELINE:

The baseline can help judge a person's emotional stabability and disposition. (This is if you write in a straight line, or if it tilts up or down)  If a person has a normally straight baseline it means they are determined and stay on track.  If it is rising it means the are optimistic, upbeat, and have a positive attitude.  If it falls it means they are tired and pessismistic.  If it is erratic, it means they are wavering and have no definite direction.

Kind of interesting, right?

I thought so.

Insert Title Here

Is it just me, or do weekends days go by faster than any other days?  Today is a holiday (Pioneer day for those of you who are not in Utah. Ok, it's really the 24th, but because it was a Sunday, it's being celebrated today), so I suppose that makes the weekend better except for the fact I didn't get work off.  That's okay though, it was fun anyways.  After I got off work, my sisters Ashley, Briar, and Melissa came over.  We chilled at my apartment until Allison got off work and then we went to IN-N-OUT for lunch/dinner.

After that we went to Yogurtland because I have now got my sisters addicted to the deliciousness.  4 down, the rest of the world to go.  They have a Hello Kitty theme going on now, so their cups are HelloKitty and their spoons are HelloKitty.  They are freakin cute and make eating the yogurt that much better.

After that we went back to my apartment and watched way too many Youtube videos, (like this one, and this one, and this one.) but were cracking up because we are easily amused.  If you click on these links and think they are as hilarious as we do then I think we could be friends because we have the same weird sense of humor.

After losing some brain cells on Youtube we went to Nickelcity and won a buttload of tickets.  It was great.  It is ran by an old couple and the old guy wears a toupee which kinda made me happy.

Well there goes a piece of my childhood.

I just barely got around to seeing Harry Potter.  Not because I didn't want to, but I couldn't find anyone to go with me.  I even contemplated going by myself, because I wanted to see it that bad.  But I didn't and I finally got to see it tonight with a couple of my sisters and . . .

Wow.  Harry Potter rocks!

I grew up with Harry Potter.  I remember reading the first book when I was in 6th grade.  I remember falling in love with Hogwarts, and with the idea of a magical land where witches and wizards really lived.  I hated the fact I was a muggle, and wished I would get an acceptance letter from Hogwarts. (Mostly so I could have a wand and apparate. And meet Harry).  As Harry grew up, I grew up.  We were about the same age when the first books came out, and we were about the same age when the series ended.  Watching the final movie is like a conclusion of a part of my childhood.

Could the space of my fingers get any bigger? Seriously, that's the widest peace sign ever.

Fill in the Blank Friday!

1.   One of my happiest moments ever was       the first time I fell in love and really knew it.  It didn't work out, but I remember that feeling, and it was amazing.

2.  Summer is wedding season and weddings are    best in the summer.  I want a summer wedding because I want an outdoor reception.

3.  This summer     has gone by way too fast.  Can anyone else believe school starts in about a month? Crazy! But this summer has been great!

4.  My summer food of choice has been   fruit.  I always love fruit, but it's so nice in the summer when it's in season and I only have to pay 69 cents for a mango instead of $3.
5.  My summer uniform has been     just my basic clothes.  Jeans, shirts.  Usually a cardigan because it's cold in my work, and I just like them.

6.  If I could spend the entire summer in one location I would choose      anywhere with a beach.  I think I would choose Oregon.  I've never been there, but I know I would love it.
7.  My summer anthem is       constantly changing.  Right now it's "Forget You" by CeeLo Green.

I Found It!

I think I found my new bed spread.  I am moving in a month and I get a full sized bed.  (All to myself. Ya yeah!)

I am pretty excited.  The slight problem is that my bedding is for a twin bed, but it won't fit on a full bed.  Obviously.  So really, moving is just a great excuse to get some new bedding.  What do you think of this beauty?

I think I'm in love.  I'm debating between the yellow or the grey.  But leaning more towards the grey.

Ahh! Now I can't wait to move.  And decorate my room!

I finished Mockingjay today. The series was just as good the 2nd time around.
New Current Read: The Book Theif by Markus Zusak

This Week.

Top to Bottom, Left to Right:

  • Went camping with Ashley and Brady.
  • Went to lunch at Zupa's with Ashley.  Sort of for her birthday.  Sort of just because Zupa's is good.
  • Had a picnic with my family up the canyon and walked to Bridel Veil Falls.  (I spell Bridel different everytime I write it.  This is because I have no idea how it's spelled and I'm too lazy to google it.)
  • Someone wrote this in cups on the overpass by my house. Love it.
  • My sister's came over and we went swimming and then got Yogurtland. Mmmmm. Yogurtland.
  • Got Chinese food and watched The Office.  I'm convinced that The Office and Chinese food can cure any bad day.
  • Just walking.  Kinda blurry, but kinda cool in an abstract, is that a shoe? or not a shoe? way.
MY OTHER BLOG

I've noticed that a lot of my pictures for my 365 are of what I eat.  You guys probably think I eat a lot.
