High on Summertime

I've always been a Fall girl, but summer is starting to grow on me.  The warm weather has been awesome, and lately it has been perfect for outdoor adventures.

Saturday, I went on a 17 mile bike ride and it was amazing!  My bum was bruised afterwards from the dang seat, but it was totally worth it.  We started at our apartment complex and then followed the trail through the canyon to Bridal Veil Falls.  It's pretty much uphill the whole way there, but the downhill ride back is great!

Hiking has also been a past time lately.  I love that I live minutes away from two different canyons.  Today, Ashley and I headed up to Stewart Falls.  It was a perfect day for a hike, the weather was amazing!

Ah, Utah. You have stolen my heart.

Week 19

Goal This Week: Hit up the library for some classroom management books and start reading about being a better teacher AND create a blog I can use for my class.

This Week

  • Chillin in my car, sittin in traffic. Gah construction. I dislike you.
  • Lime in my water has been my favorite lately.

  • Hike to Stewart Falls.
  • Live Concert at Sammy's! The girls voice was amazing!
  • Took pictures with Ashley at a wedding.
  • Solar Eclipse! That's a terrible picture of it, but it was sooo cool to see!

Best Line of the Movie.

Week 18

Goal This Week:  Use my real camera.  My iPhone is taking over my pictures.  Don't get me wrong, it's very nice having my phone on my for a quick picture, but I need to let my poor camera see some sunshine instead of sitting in it's little case.

Lemonade

I think it's ironic that my goal for last week was to find happiness in the little things.  I must have been inspired when I made that goal because Heavenly Father knew something challenging was coming my way. Life is really good at handing out lemons, and sometimes it gives you a lemon so big you think there is no way you are going to get any lemonade from it.  I know it's all part of life.  Life is challenging.  It's supposed to be that way, and I get that.  I 100% believe that everything we go through can be a learning experience and make us a better person if we let it.  This week has tried me, heart and soul.  There have been many tears and many moments of prayer as I've been on my knees begging my Heavenly Father to make everything be okay.  It's hard seeing someone you love, someone you would do anything for, go through something and knowing there is little you can do to help because they have to do it by their self.

I know there is much to be grateful for after this week, and I recognize those tender mercies.  Those tender mercies are what is seeing me through.  I'm not trying to be all 'Whoa is me' or anything like that, and I'm sure everyone has had those moments where all they want to do is scream at the top of their lungs because they don't know what else to do.  These moments remind us we're human and that we're learning and that life is a test and dang hard one at that.  But even though the test is hard and the lemons are bitter, there are always tender mercies to remind us that there is a way to make lemonade, even out of the most bitter lemon.

This Week

  • Editing pictures and watching Ever After. I love that movie!
  • Waiting.
  • Coconut M&M's.  Dinner of champions.
  • I love that my dad uses two pairs of glasses to see.  He takes the term bifocals a little too seriously.
  • Briar got her wisdom teeth out and wrapped a bag of broccoli and a bag of green beans with an ace bandage as ice packs.
  • Dang crack in my window from the roofers throwing their scraps off the roof.  Pretty irked at that.
  • Laying in my parents bed watching Matilda with my siblings.  You're never to old to lay in your parents bed.

The Monsen's

I just love this family.  Kiley was my roommate at Snow College, and she has the cutest little family.  It gets me all excited to have a family of my own one day.  Ashley and I got to take pictures of her family this weekend.  Because I liked a lot of them I posted a lot of them, so sorry for the picture overload, but seriously, can you get enough of those cute little baby cheeks?  I didn't think so.
