so school has started. i have mixed feelings about it, ha. i love school tho, i'm just not a fan of all the homework that comes with it. this semester is pretty much about getting some depth classes out of the way so i'm taking family finance, intro to political research (which turns out to pretty much be a stats class and trying to define terms that really can't be defined. confusing), american art, and photography. I am really excited about my photography class. the teacher is amazing. like national geographic good. i'm really excited to learn from him and do the projects. i'm hoping this semeseter isn't too bad. i'm going to have to work really hard because i found out my scholarship is on probation, so i have to be really careful with my grades. i'm working 30 right now, but i'm trying to work a few things out to go down to 25. or maybe keep it at 30 and buy a computer, which would be awesome! so hopefully that'll work out.

so i have a 12 hr day at work today
so i've got some time to kill blogging. so here's a

It's not funny when....

Ok, so I'm at work and I get a text from my mom's phone that says "I see you" so I think my mom is trying to be funny and I say"Huh" and someone on my mom's phone says, "i'm outside your apartment, don't even try looking. you won't be able to see them. i'm holding them hostage." so i have to admit i was a little freaked out because why would my mom randomly play a joke on me that they were kidnapped. but then i think who the heck would want to hold my family hostage. so i text back, "who is this" and they say "i'm rafael. don't call the cops for i have snipers at the ready." so at this point i'm pretty freaked out thinking someone has kidnapped my family and is going to kill me. so i'm racking my brain trying to think if my family has some fued with someone named rafael, and text back "are you playing a joke on me? cuz this isn't funny." then i get a phone call from my mom's phone but i can't answer because i'm on a call at work. so then i get another text saying that it's my brother. i had a voicemail and i listened to it. It's my brother and he says, "this is rafael, listen to your mother scream." and then in the background my mom goes, "ahhhhhhh" and then my brother does an evil laugh and hangs up. despite the fact that i seriously thought my family was abducted, i have to admit it was pretty funny. ah, my family.

so tuesday night i went on a hike with a friend from work. he brought his roommate and his roommate's girlfriend and we headed up the mountain. we hiked the juniper trail, which is beautiful! beginning of the trail there is a meadow and there were wildflowers on both sides. it was really pretty. it was a really long hike tho. it was 4.5 miles one way, so it took us about 3 hours to get up there, and then 2 and a half to get back. we started at 6pm so we didn't get back til midnight and on the way back my $1 flashlight from wally world died. then the girls flashlight died too, so we had one light for four of us in the pitch black. but it was way fun! the trail is awesome tho, you hike up to a tree that is 3200 years old and it's a really cool looking tree. the branches are all twisted but it look awesome!

New Blog

So, I'm starting a blog. Due to persistent bugging from my good friend Ashley, I have finally caved in and created one. I don't keep a journal very well so maybe this will count. So a little about me: I'm currently living in Logan, UT, working for the summer and starting school up again in a couple weeks (Yikes!). I'm going into graphic design and teaching and I'm pretty excited about it. It seems there's no end in sight for school to be over, but it'll be fun. I work at Convergys, which is a call center, so I take inbound calls for Comcast High Speed Internet. It's alright, it pays the bills, and in the mean time I save the internet world one comcast customer at a time. My family lives in Lehi, and I miss them alot. I'm the oldest of 8 so there is never a dull moment at my house. Especially since my sister, Melissa, started working at Thanksgiving point, and keeps bringing home random animals like goats, sheep, ducks, and chickens. It's great. Especially when Aubrey chases the duck around the yard and the duck is freaking out :)
