Ahhhhhhh!

I am pretty excited because look at what is in my hand.  A freakin iPhone!  (Insert squeals of excitement here.)  So far it's been amazing.  I haven't done any weird auto corrects (yet), but I did send a bunch of people an "Love you too" text, including my ex-fiance.  Weird.

How did that happen?  Let me explain.  When I first got it I sent a mass text to a bunch of people in my phone so they would have my new number and if people replied back to that message everyone got those messages.  So my grandma sent me a message that says, "Thanks sanman - lov u!" and I reply "Love you too".  A couple minutes later my sister texted me and said, "Dear Grandma and Sam, I am pretty sure you sent that to a lot of people" and then a couple minutes after that I get a text from my ex-fiance, "What?"  Probably scared the crap outta him, haha.

I have been downloading apps like crazy! Anyone have any favorites?

The Other Day

I always love it when Kiley comes into town.  Her son Jaden had just turned the big 2 and she wanted pictures of him so Ashley and I happily obliged.  People probably thought he was some hot shot, celebrity baby because there were two photographers snapping away.  Jaden is just that cute.  He is one wiggly little boy though.  After we took pictures of Jaden (and of ourselves) we went to the cutest little Italian restaurant La Dolce Vida.  Mmmm, it was good.  It was the best Chicken Alfredo I've ever had.

Sorry for the repeated pictures of Ashley and me in glasses.  I couldn't decide which one and then I was like, "Oh this is my blog, I'm posting them all."  So yeah.  Ashley is in the process of buying new glasses so we were testing them out, hence, the glasses.  Now I really want some.  Dang my perfect eye sight!

Fill in the Blank Friday

1.   One of my favorite things to do when I have free time is   to blog stalk people or catch up on a TV series.  Wow that kinda makes me sounds really lame  .

2.   When I have free time I tend to   waste it.  I need to be better about using it wisely but I'll get on my computer, then I'll get on Facebook, then I'll get on my blog, then I'll . . . you know how it goes    .

3.  If I had an entire day completely to myself I would   start it off by sleeping in.  Not too long because then I feel lazy, then I'd get up and get ready and then get in my car and drive somewhere cool.  I've been having this urge to want to go to the Spiral Jetty in the Salt Lake, so I'm thinking I'd drive there with my camera.  Dang, I really want a day all to myself now.   .

4.  I would prefer to spend my free time (alone or with others...)   eh, it depends on what mood I'm in.  I'm a creature who needs my alone time and I'm perfectly content with being by myself, but it is possible to have too much alone time and it's always nice to have friends there too   .

5.  Most of my free time happens    rarely.  Ok, well that hasn't been the case these last 3 weeks, but when school is in it's another story .

6.  The best thing about free time is    that it's yours and you can do whatever you want with it  .

7.  The next time I have free time I should probably   clean my room and the kitchen  but instead, I'll probably     put it off, watch a movie, or chill with friends.  Clearly much more fun .

Friends and Babies

My friend Kiley came down today and I got to take pictures of her son for his second birthday (more on that later).  I'm going to bed, but I just loved this picture so much I had to share it tonight.

Ok, that's all. I'm going to bed now. Night.

Fish Eye

For Christmas I got a fish eye lens and it just came in the mail today. So naturally, I've been taking pictures of just about everything that I see.  I'm still trying to figure out how to use it.  It's a little weird because I just attach it to my regular lens, so if I want a close shot I have to get really close to whatever I'm taking a picture of.  Like, really close.  I thought the effect would be a little more dramatic of a fish eye.  On some of the pictures I took you can't even tell it's a different lens.  I'm gonna have to read up on this . . .  But in the mean time I'm gonna have fun experimenting.

Anyone have a fish eye lens?  Tips?  Suggestions?

I'm a Believer

For Christmas I got a blender, and I was pretty dang excited about it.  (You know you're getting old when you get excited about kitchen appliances.)  I was excited because now I can make smoothies.  I decided to test it out yesterday and make a spinach smoothie.  I was worried because I'd heard about spinach smoothies but I'd never had one, and who likes spinach in their smoothies?  I put mixed berries, spinach, and vanilla yogurt together and I am here to say that I am a spinach smoothie believer.

Week 1

Hello 2012!  I had mentioned that I was going to do a goal a week this year, so here we go:

This week I have a few.  Normally it will only be one a week, but I have a lot of motivation running through me right now, so I'm taking advantage of it and doing a couple.

First:  Write down every time I spend money.  Every single cent.  I want to keep track of where my money is going and how much I spend on what so I can better make a budget.

Second:  Hit up the gym everyday.  Ok, 5-6 days.  Bring it.

A Day in The Life

Happy New Year!!  Doesn't the year 2012 have a good ring to it?  It's gonna be a great year, I can feel it.  I have high aspirations for this year.  I made some goals and I am determined to stick to them.  Most of the time I don't make it past January, but there is a first time for everything.  I started my Project 365 blog (which I will be revamping soon, because it is in dyer need or a makeover) again today and so I was a little camera happy, ergo my day in pictures.

  • I got ready and went to church with the roommate.
  • Headed to my parents after church and played some games with Aubrey and Issac.
  • My mom made Bruschetta that was amazingly good.
  • Watched my 16 year old sister and my 6 year old sister tackle each other, a common occurrence.
  • Did some laundry.  See that shirt with the people on it?  That is my favorite shirt of all time.  It was my mom's and I sleep in it.  It has a giant (seriously ginormous) hole in the armpit of it but I don't care.  I will never get rid of that shirt.
  • Watched Isaac attempt to get Harley (our dog) out of the house.  Harley: 1 Isaac: 0
  • The Count of Monte Cristo and ate Don Julio Chips with Queso.  My brother went off forever about the Don Julio chips.  "Ooooh, Don Julio.  Answer the door! There's a girl for you! Don Julio! The Door!  It's Sofia, she has a flower in her hair! Don Julio, the door!  Oh wait, Don Julio, it's the pizza man."  Imagine all of that being said in a high-pitched imitation of a Mexican woman.
  • Made a budget (that I am determined to stick to) and read my scriptures.
  • Finished the night with a bath and watching Fantastic Mr. Fox

Images of 2011

2011 has been an interesting year.  I was going to write a recap of all that happened, but then I was like "eh" and decided to just post a bunch of pictures instead.  So here are some images from the year.
