Seis de Mayo?

We weren't able to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, so we had a Seis de Mayo, which if you ask my, was just as bueno. We went to Los Hermanos and got some delicious Mexican food, and then went to see "Something Borrowed"

We got delicious caramel apples from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.  Mmmm, so good.

We went to the Riverwoods which has the coolest setup.  It's a bunch of restaurants and shops, and has lights hanging overhead and in the trees.  Love it!

Fill in the Blank Friday

Courtesy of Lauren

1.   What I love most about my home is     that it's a safe haven.  I also love what Lauren said, "the people I share it with" My most favorite thing about my home is the people there.  I love my family so much.  I seriously won the family lottery.  I'm excited to have a home of my own one day that I can share when I have my own family.

2.  I'm excited because,   tomorrow is Friday!  I have to work on Saturday, but there is something about Friday that is just great.  Got some fun plans tomorrow night with some friends to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.  It'll be great.

3.  My preferred method for blowing  off steam when I'm frustrated is    well, it depends. When I need to blow off steam, and I go on a run, those are usually my best runs because all the pent up anger/steam/stress helps.  And I am a firm believer in crying.  Crying really does release emotion and makes you feel so much better.

4.  Currently I am craving   nothing really.  Wow, that never happens.  I guess I'm craving some sleep. 6:45 is going to come way too fast.

5.  The thing I love most about my mom is     what an amazing example she is to me.  She works so hard to make sure her kids are provided for.  She is the most self-less person I know.  She would wear old clothes and IN-N-OUT t-shirts rather than buying herself new clothes, so that she could make sure we didn't go without.  She is loving and patient.  When I was growing up, I tried to make my own identity and didn't want to be like my mom, because when you're a teenager, you don't want that.  I realize now that if I'm even a little bit like her I'll be a good person.

6.  If I was going to write a book about my life, the title would be       "Sam in Real Life" hehe.

7.  If I were to eat one thing for the rest of eternity it would be     pasta.  MMMMM I love a good bowl of pasta.  Doesn't matter which kind.  I could live on noodles.  As long as I have different seasonings and sauces, I'd be set.

Thankful Thursday

I decided that I want to start something.  All these blogs have the fun weekly things that they do, like "Fill in the Blank" or "Wee Bit Wednesday" or other cool things like that, and I want to join in the fun.  I'm going to do a "Thankful Thursday."  It's always nice to sit back and think about what you're thankful for, and I have so much to be thankful for.

Today I am thankful for my jobs.  I talk to people all the time on the phone at my work and they are telling me how they have been unemployed for awhile and haven't been able to find work.  I am so lucky to have not one, but two jobs.  Even on the days I don't really want to go, I realize that there are some people who would love to have a job, so I need to be grateful for them.  Now if only I could remember this the next time I get yelled at on the phone at work. . .

If you want to join in, please do!  I would love that!  I don't know how to do the link thing, but you can leave a comment.

Oh, and I forgot to post this picture yesterday from hiking the Y.  I thought it was so cool how there was the halo.  Aw, sunsets are beautiful, aren't they?

The "Y"

Tonight we hiked up to the "Y" and holy cow was it steep.  It's uphill the whole way.  What a good bum workout!  The view was beautiful though.

Oops.

Are you sick of posts today?  I'm at work and really bored, hence 3 posts in the last hour.  This is pretty funny though.  I love it when professional people mess up :)

Ordinary People

Good Morning Present

I parked under a tree last night and when I got in my car this morning, I saw that I had a nice little present on my windshield.  I guess the birds wanted to welcome me to the neighborhood.

Also, I got my grades today.  I am pretty freakin excited because . . .

I GOT A 4.0!!!
I guess the work, stress, and lack of social life was worth it.

Happy Wednesday :)

Running Photography

Have you ever seen Yes Man?  In the movie, the main girl has a photography/running class and as they run they take pictures of what they see.  I thought it was a pretty funny idea, but I decided to try it out tonight.  Amberly and I went on a run in the canyon and I brought my camera along.  It was so nice running in the canyon.  And it was such a good run.

Be warned, some/most of them are blurry.  I was running after all.  It was actually really fun, and it takes your mind off the fact that your running.  So next time you go running, bring your camera :)

hot dogs. oh, and I failed.

Ok, so I've kinda already messed up on the no sugar thing and it's only day 3.  I thought painting myself into a corner and putting it on my blog would help, but alas, it didn't.  (Sometimes I say alas in conversations because doesn't it sound fancy?)  But I realized that for me, quitting sugar cold turkey might not be the easiest, so I really just need to limit the amount to start with.  I think this will work a lot better for me because I won't feel deprived and the have a crazy sugar spree later.  So yeah, any tips on weaning yourself off sugar?  I think my first step is going to be just be more aware of what sugar I eat, and deciding whether I really want it.  This is something I want to do, I just need to be more realistic.

And on to other things, me and Ashley went up the canyon last night and roasted some hot dogs.  I helped build my first fire ever! Pretty exciting stuff.  I didn't burn the canyon down, so I think it went pretty good.

Yeah, I'm not sure what's going on with my face in this one.

 Pondering the meaning of life.

Get room organized. Check!

I finally got all my stuff unpacked!  It's such a good feeling knowing you're officially moved in, and everything is unpacked.  I was bummed though because in the process of moving two things broke.  I have a lamp base that cracked (I'm still using it though) and see the pictures "Sunflowers" by Van Gogh above my bed.  Yeah, the glass broke.  I kept the frame with the glass in it anyways, but I was way sad, even though the frame was only $5 at D.I., it took forever to find and it was perfect for the picture.  I have come to the realization that I am a klutz and things have a tendency to break around me.  I'm pretty sure clumsiness is a genetic trait you can't get rid of, because believe me, I've tried. Sad day.

I tend to be a cluttered, semi-disorganized person.  Everything has  a spot, but it's usually a mess within that spot.  Except for my closet.  My friend Ashley color coordinates her closet, and I always thought she was slightly weird/OCD/had way too much time on her hands for doing it.  Then one weekend she came and visited my in Logan and offered to color coordinate my closet.  I let her, thinking in the back of my head that within the week it would be back to it's mismatched-ness within the week. Boy was I wrong.  It is freakin awesome!  Seriously, I was converted to the color-coordinated way.  It's so nice when you're getting ready, because if you are looking for a blue shirt, all you have to do is go to the blue section instead of searching the whole closet.  Genius!  So, if you got a few minutes, color coordinate your closet.  I'm tellin' ya, it will change your life.

Day 1/Weekend

Today is May 1st.  You know what that means?  No more sugar!  This is really something I want to do because I know it will be good for me.  We'll see how it goes.  I'm sure I'll have many weak moments, but it'll be so worth it.

No more!

This weekend was busy!  Moving, unpacking, dinner with an old friend, movies.  Last night we went and saw Source Code.  Has anyone seen it?  I don't know how I feel about it.  I sneakily snuck (sneaked? snuk? how do you spell that) a picture during the movie because I needed one for my Project 365.  Jake was in it, and mmmboy is he cute.

I am so excited school is out, so I can finally catch up on some reading!  I have so many books on my list, I just have to get through the one I'm reading right now.  Lord of the Flies.  It's taking me fooooreeevveeerrr. Partly because of finals.  Partly because it's hard to get through.  For me anyways.  People keep telling me to hang in there because it gets good, so I'm still hanging.

Beautiful
