Week 19
Goal This Week: Hit up the library for some classroom management books and start reading about being a better teacher AND create a blog I can use for my class.

Week 18
Goal This Week: Use my real camera. My iPhone is taking over my pictures. Don't get me wrong, it's very nice having my phone on my for a quick picture, but I need to let my poor camera see some sunshine instead of sitting in it's little case.

Week 16 and 17
So, I forgot about last weeks goal. Oops a'daisy.
This weeks goal: find happiness in the little things. It's easy to just live life without stopping and "smelling the roses." This week, I'm gonna smell those roses.

Week #15
Goal this week: Listen to at least 1 talk from General Conference a day. I did this a few days last week while I was driving to the school, and it's amazing the difference it makes in my day. I am especially in love with Elder Holland's talk.

Week #14
Goals This Week: No eating after 8PM. I have a really bad habit of eating at night and it's usually never anything that is good for me.
Go to the library. I have a tendency to get distracted at my apartment and I have a lot I have to get done this week. So my plan is to make the library my home

Week #12
Well Hello!
I'm back from Arizona, and getting back on the grind. In the grind? To the grind? I don't know, all I know is life is gonna get busy.
My goal this week: Blog! I haven't done a post in awhile, so that's the goal.
Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Week #10
This weeks goal: Pretty much be Superwoman. I don't think that's asking too much.
I am leaving for Arizona on Friday for Spring Break and I want to get all of my homework and field assignments done before then.
While doing this I also want to be hitting up the gym (which I did once last week, so fail).
It's gonna be a crazy-work hard-super busy-week but Friday I'll be on a plane to Arizona so it'll be totally worth it!

A Day in The Life
Happy New Year!! Doesn't the year 2012 have a good ring to it? It's gonna be a great year, I can feel it. I have high aspirations for this year. I made some goals and I am determined to stick to them. Most of the time I don't make it past January, but there is a first time for everything. I started my Project 365 blog (which I will be revamping soon, because it is in dyer need or a makeover) again today and so I was a little camera happy, ergo my day in pictures.
- I got ready and went to church with the roommate.
- Headed to my parents after church and played some games with Aubrey and Issac.
- My mom made Bruschetta that was amazingly good.
- Watched my 16 year old sister and my 6 year old sister tackle each other, a common occurrence.
- Did some laundry. See that shirt with the people on it? That is my favorite shirt of all time. It was my mom's and I sleep in it. It has a giant (seriously ginormous) hole in the armpit of it but I don't care. I will never get rid of that shirt.
- Watched Isaac attempt to get Harley (our dog) out of the house. Harley: 1 Isaac: 0
- The Count of Monte Cristo and ate Don Julio Chips with Queso. My brother went off forever about the Don Julio chips. "Ooooh, Don Julio. Answer the door! There's a girl for you! Don Julio! The Door! It's Sofia, she has a flower in her hair! Don Julio, the door! Oh wait, Don Julio, it's the pizza man." Imagine all of that being said in a high-pitched imitation of a Mexican woman.
- Made a budget (that I am determined to stick to) and read my scriptures.
- Finished the night with a bath and watching Fantastic Mr. Fox

New Kicks, New Year
The new year is coming.
I have never been one to make resolutions. Correction, I have never been one to keep resolutions. I can make them all right, but a week into the new year I lose sight of the reason why I made them. But this year is going to be different. I am determined to keep these because they will make me better, and I need that in my life.
I have set goals financially, physically, and spiritually and broken them down to specific things I want to do to get me where I want to be. I also want to restart my Project 365 which I'm really excited about. My friend Ashley did this thing where she would make a new goal each week, so 52 goals in a year. A big goal over a year seems like a lot, but I can handle a small goal for a week. After all, it's the little habits that make up the big ones right?
I'm excited to see what this year holds. This year is gonna determine a lot for me. I'll be graduating college (finally!) and I'll be applying for jobs and all that grown up stuff. It's gonna be a good year. I can feel it.
So peeps, feel free to give me a kick in the butt if I'm slacking in the goal department.

And onto the next week . . .
This week was, in one word, busy. Work, School, Homework, Repeat. This weekend we celebrated my little sister's 16th birthday. Which is weird for two reason. A) She can date. B) She can drive. The original plan was to go up to Salt Lake and get dinner and walk around Temple Square and the Gateway, but the weather decided to be rainy that day, so plan B was The Pie (sooooo delicious) and they went Classic Skating while my mom, my dad, Jason, and I walked around Target and Barnes and Noble (two of my favorite stores).
Saturday included going to an awesome used bookstore and getting some books that I am super excited about, chilling with my sisters, going to Target (again) and watching the BYU vs. U of U game where I am happy to say that BYU got slaughtered. Seriously. It was sad. I almost felt bad for them at the end. Almost.
Sunday consisted of finally getting my room clean, church, fireside, and making lasagna from scratch. And it was freakin amazingly delicious if I do say so myself. And as a plus, I have lunch for the rest of this week from the leftovers.
This week is looking just as busy as last. A test and presentation (only 7 minutes though) on top of my already enormous stack of reading. But I have some goals for this week:
a) organize my dishes and food cupboard
b) work out at least 3 times this week
c) paint my toenails (seems a mediocre goal, but if you saw my chipped toes you would not only understand, but agree)
d) eat healthy
e) go to institute. and read my scriptures daily. no more slacking.
f) get caught up on my school reading for the week.
So yeah. Bring on the week.

hot dogs. oh, and I failed.
Ok, so I've kinda already messed up on the no sugar thing and it's only day 3. I thought painting myself into a corner and putting it on my blog would help, but alas, it didn't. (Sometimes I say alas in conversations because doesn't it sound fancy?) But I realized that for me, quitting sugar cold turkey might not be the easiest, so I really just need to limit the amount to start with. I think this will work a lot better for me because I won't feel deprived and the have a crazy sugar spree later. So yeah, any tips on weaning yourself off sugar? I think my first step is going to be just be more aware of what sugar I eat, and deciding whether I really want it. This is something I want to do, I just need to be more realistic.
And on to other things, me and Ashley went up the canyon last night and roasted some hot dogs. I helped build my first fire ever! Pretty exciting stuff. I didn't burn the canyon down, so I think it went pretty good.
Yeah, I'm not sure what's going on with my face in this one.
Pondering the meaning of life.

Day 1/Weekend
Today is May 1st. You know what that means? No more sugar! This is really something I want to do because I know it will be good for me. We'll see how it goes. I'm sure I'll have many weak moments, but it'll be so worth it.
This weekend was busy! Moving, unpacking, dinner with an old friend, movies. Last night we went and saw Source Code. Has anyone seen it? I don't know how I feel about it. I sneakily snuck (sneaked? snuk? how do you spell that) a picture during the movie because I needed one for my Project 365. Jake was in it, and mmmboy is he cute.

I am so excited school is out, so I can finally catch up on some reading! I have so many books on my list, I just have to get through the one I'm reading right now. Lord of the Flies. It's taking me fooooreeevveeerrr. Partly because of finals. Partly because it's hard to get through. For me anyways. People keep telling me to hang in there because it gets good, so I'm still hanging.

My New Goal
![]() | ||||
| (photos courtesy weheartit.com) |
Sugar is my downfall. I know that I eat waaaaaay to much of it. When I eat sugar, it usually gives me a headache, and that has limited the amount I eat, but I know I still eat waaaaaaay too much. The average person eats 150lbs of sugar a year. Some sites show that only 100 years ago, people only ate about 5lbs of sugar a year. No wonder there is an increase in diabetes and obesity. The amount of sugar we eat has increased by 145lbs!
So this is my goal: I am going to cut back the amount of sugar in my diet. Now, I know that seems crazy and extreme, because let's be real here, sugar is delicious. But I know this is something I need to do, and I want to do. A lot of times when I eat sugar it is because I'm stressed, or it's there, or it's mindless eating.
So here is my plan. On May 1st I am going to cut sugar out of my diet. I will allow myself 1 "mess up" a week, because honestly if a cute boy asks me to get ice cream, I'm going to get ice cream. I am going to try and be more aware of what I am putting into my body.
I'm a little nervous about really being able to do this, but I've tried it before. I had gone a whole month without any sugar, and it was amazing how I didn't crave it anymore. So I know it's possible. And this headache I have right now from eating a Reese's Peanut Butter Egg is motivation enough to cut it out. I will be like the soup nazi from Seinfeld except I'll say "No sugar for you!" I'll use the same accent and only say it to myself. Ok, so it's not the same.
For those of you who don't know who the soup nazi is, here ya go:
