Sometimes you just have to have one of these.
Life has been crazy! I started my field experience last Monday and holy cow am I scared for teaching next year. I am in a 3rd grade classroom, and will be teaching at the same school next semester. The teacher has been awesome and has been letting me teach a ton. This is both good and bad. Good because I could use all the experience I can get. Bad because it is really stressful and I'm having to plan lessons (in math, eek!) on top of all the other stuff I have to do for my field experience. I know it will all help me next year, and it is really opening my eyes as to what I'll be doing soon. I just have to get through the next few weeks and then I will be done with my classes. Woot!
This experience has made me realize how much work it is to be a teacher. I am seriously wondering to myself, "What the H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks am I getting myself into?" I'm thinking you have to be certifiably insane to want to go into the education field. From the outside it looks like daisies and cotton candy, all fun and happy and stress free. WRONG! It's the exact opposite. I know once I teach for awhile I'll get the hang of it, and it'll become easier, but until then I am freaking out a little.
Teaching does have it's rewarding/funny moments. Like the boy in my class who always give the "Live Long and Prosper" sign whenever he raises his hand. Or the notes from the students telling me I'm pretty and they love me and have good "stile" (style).
These are the little things that keep me going. That and Diet Coke.
So peeps, go thank one of your teachers. They worked hard for you.
Next on my mind vomit list: Am I the only person who hasn't seen The Hunger Games yet?! I want to see it sooooooooo so so so soooo bad! I was busy this weekend and didn't have a chance to go see it (seriously, where are my priotities!?) I am going to see it this weekend, but I have to wait all the way until Saturday. . . Until then, here are some images to get me through.
Also, I have been thinking, they need to make a diet chocolate. Like diet soda. There is a soda with zero calories (I know, I know, still just as bad for you), so they should have a chocolate with zero calories. So that way when I eat half a bag of some sort of chocolatey goodness, I won't feel so bad. While they're at it, they should just invent a chocolate that burns calories while you eat it. I don't think we should rule this out as a possibility. I don't care what science says. I hope to live in a day where I can consume a bag of chocolate and get thinner at the same time.
Last thing, Gotye's album "Making Mirrors" is pretty bomb. I have currently been obsessed with "I Feel Better." When you listen to it and you can't help but, well, feel better.
Listen to it.
Ok, that's all.

Let's Talk Face
Ok peeps, I need some skin care advice.
I've never had good skin. It's not waaaaay terrible, but I've had my fair share of erupting volcanoes on my face. I thought by the time I was 24, I would have stopped getting pimples, but alas, this is not the case.
Currently I am looking for a really good face wash/cream/mask/whatever other magical cream there may be out there that can clear out my pores. So, any suggestions?
And because I like having pictures on my blog posts, here is a picture of my hair. Because I'm not letting you guys see my face :) It was a "hair on top of the head" kinda day.

Friday the 13th. Dun dun dun . . .
Good thing I'm not superstitious or else this could be a very interesting day.
In current Sam news:
I have finally found it. The Best thing about the iPhone is the iPhone case. After much searching, I found one that I am in love with. Does anyone else think it is ridiculous how much they charge for a tiny piece of plastic. Sheesh! Oh well, my phone is stinkin cute.
School has started. I am now a first semester senior! Booyah! That means next semester I either student teach or *fingers crossed* intern. I'm hoping for the internship because a) it's paid and b) it counts as your first year of teaching so you get benefits and all that fun stuff. Also, I really don't want to have to move back home to do student teaching. There's no way I could teach full time and work full time to pay my bills. Not happening.
I have been having dreams of teaching lately. It's kinda weird. Not scary ones, just ones where I'm in a class and I'm working with students and I'm happy and loving what I do. I wake up really excited and wanting to teach already.
Happy Friday the 13th!

A Day in The Life
Happy New Year!! Doesn't the year 2012 have a good ring to it? It's gonna be a great year, I can feel it. I have high aspirations for this year. I made some goals and I am determined to stick to them. Most of the time I don't make it past January, but there is a first time for everything. I started my Project 365 blog (which I will be revamping soon, because it is in dyer need or a makeover) again today and so I was a little camera happy, ergo my day in pictures.
- I got ready and went to church with the roommate.
- Headed to my parents after church and played some games with Aubrey and Issac.
- My mom made Bruschetta that was amazingly good.
- Watched my 16 year old sister and my 6 year old sister tackle each other, a common occurrence.
- Did some laundry. See that shirt with the people on it? That is my favorite shirt of all time. It was my mom's and I sleep in it. It has a giant (seriously ginormous) hole in the armpit of it but I don't care. I will never get rid of that shirt.
- Watched Isaac attempt to get Harley (our dog) out of the house. Harley: 1 Isaac: 0
- The Count of Monte Cristo and ate Don Julio Chips with Queso. My brother went off forever about the Don Julio chips. "Ooooh, Don Julio. Answer the door! There's a girl for you! Don Julio! The Door! It's Sofia, she has a flower in her hair! Don Julio, the door! Oh wait, Don Julio, it's the pizza man." Imagine all of that being said in a high-pitched imitation of a Mexican woman.
- Made a budget (that I am determined to stick to) and read my scriptures.
- Finished the night with a bath and watching Fantastic Mr. Fox

And This is Why I Don't Like Driving
11/11/11 is supposed to be a magical day. I had been looking forward to this day ever since I R.S.V.P'd on Facebook. That night I was on my way to my friends so we could head up to a wedding reception and I was just driving in a lane when a dang car pulled into the lane I was in. I could either slam on my breaks or go into the other lane. I decide to go into the other lane, but then I saw a car that had been in my blind spot so I decided to try to go back in the lane I had been in but then the other car was there and I side swiped them.
Ugggghhh. That was not my exact thought, but I'm editing for reader consideration. Luckily it was just my drivers side mirror that got damaged. And the side is scratched but it's just a flesh wound. The car that I hit was a car from a dealership that someone was test driving. Great. I'm not looking forward to having to call my insurance and paying the citation for "improper lane travel." Oh well, could've been worse. Now I get to drive a ghetto car with the side mirror duct taped on.
But, I did make an epic wish at 11:11 though.

Dinner Plans
I was going to make spaghetti for dinner tonight, so I started my noodles and then went into my room to do something. A few minutes later, I went back out there to check on them and realized I had turned on the wrong burner. "Ugh," I thought. So, I turned off the burner that was on and went back to my room. A few minutes later I went back out there to check on the noodles again and saw that they still weren't boiling. Why? Because I had forgot to turn on the right burner. So, I turned the right burner on and then went on about my business. Then I totally forgot about the noodles and by the time I checked on them they were a soggy mess.
At this point I gave up and ate cereal.

This Weekend: Costume, Phone in Yogurt, Letter to Myself and Inspired.
Yo.
This weekend went by way too fast. As does every weekend. I had to work on Saturday (LAME) and that makes it feel like I didn't have a weekend. Friday night, Ashley, Caitlyn and I went out to have some post birthday fun. We went to California Pizza Kitchen and Yogurtland. I don't know what was going on with me that night, but I was dropping everything. Food. My phone in frozen yogurt. I think more of my food made it in my lap than it did my mouth. Caitlyn was taking a picture at the exact moment my phone fell in my yogurt. My poor phone. We hit up Comedy Sports later that night (which was hilarious!).
Saturday was pretty uneventful. I won't even talk about it, because it was boring. But I did find out that the Grey's Anatomy's I bought online were pirated copies. I'm a crook! I was trying to sell the at F.Y.E. but apparently they don't buy pirated copies. Weird. I felt really dumb when the girl was telling me because I had no idea. I should've known though. 6 season for the price of 1? There's your sign.
Today I made my costume, lost it, and found it. All in one day. I am very excited about it. Hopefully people will get it. I'll post pictures later.
So apparently when I was in Young Women's I wrote a letter to myself. My leaders were going to wait 10 years and then send them to us so we could see what we wrote. Earlier this week my mom got a letter from myself. It had only been 8 years, but it's weird to think that 8 years ago I was 16.
Wow. I'm a dork.
It was funny reading what my 16 year old self had to say. At this point in my life I was wanting to go into psychology and wanted to go to BYU. Ha! I hadn't gotten my drivers license yet (because my parents made me wait 6 freakin months before I could get it). My favorite color was green. My favorite band was Good Charlotte.
Oh how the times have changed.
Ok, my final thing. Watch this video. I'm not kidding, it may change your life. And cause you to tear up.

Cure for a Cold
Dear Sam,
For your birthday we will give you a cold/sinus infection. Also, a huge zit on your cheek.
You're welcome.
Love,
Your Body
That's alright. Although a cold means a pounding head, runny/stuffy nose, and a really annoying itch in my throat that won't go away, it also means hot baths, orange juice, and Harry Potter.
I could live without the pimple though.

A Home of It's Own
I don't want to do my homework so I am procrastablogging. Do you like that word? I just made it up right now. Procrastablogging is always a lot more fun than homework. But I do have a good reason to blog. I ordered the freakin' cutest laptop case and it finally came yesterday. It's so cute that it needs to be shared.
I am in love with it. I may start taking my computer random places now, just so I can put it in it's case.

Birthday Surprise?
Apparently the cigarette industry isn't doing so hot because I keep getting mail from Marlboro. I didn't know cigarette companies sent out mail. They even send birthday presents. Today I got a bottle opener for my birthday. They shouldn't have?

The Grasshopper That Attacked Me.
My little sister Ashley has her drivers permit so every time I come home she begs me to drive. Today we were driving around trying to find fall trees so me and Indiana could take pictures (which there aren't any around here. Lame! I need to go to the mountains). So we headed to the Jordan River bridge instead. There were so many bugs there! I was trying to get pictures of them and one of the dang grasshoppers jumped at me and landed on me. Ok, not landed but it touched me. I screamed. I don't do bugs.
That one staring at us, that's the one that jumped on me. You can see the evil look in his eye. He's planning the jump right then, you can tell.

Monday. Ugh.
Monday.
That's all that needs to be said and people know the feeling.
I am determined this week will be productive. It actually has to be because I have 1 presentation this week, 2 next week, a lesson plan due, and 2 tests. So I either be productive or get a bad grade. On the upside, it is getting colder outside. Yay cold weather! And I am going to Yogurtland this week with Ashley which is great because I have been craving it. I really want to try their Pumpkin yogurt. There is also a drive up the canyon planned for this week. Can't wait to see the leaves! And I'm thinking about dying my hair. I am getting so sick of it and I'm really tempted to chop it off, but I think I'll try more layers and color before I resort to scissors and inches.
Random tidbit of the day: A couple weeks ago I got a new shirt. And new socks. Lovin.

Define slight
Last weekend, my sisters and I went to Old Navy and were browsing through the clearance section. I was going to get a shirt and saw the same shirt on the clearance rack so I figured I'd buy that one instead. I looked at the tag and it was more than 50% off with the reason of "slight hole". This is what the shirt looked like:
What exactly do they think slight means?

What did you do today?
I hope it was more exciting than what I did. I had a bottle of oil in my car because I thought I was being prepared in case something happened, but that backfired. So apparently the lid wasn't shut all the way and it had fallen over. It had been leaking all over the back of my car for who knows how many days. So my afternoon was spent attempting to get the massive amount of oil out of the back of my car. How do you even get oil out of things? I have no idea.
Then I remembered the Dawn commercials. You know the ones where they are cleaning the little ducks and sea otters that are covered in oil, and they are bathing them in Dawn and then putting them back in the ocean? Yeah I remembered that, so I went and got my dish soap and a roll of paper towels. An hour and a whole roll of paper towels later I still didn't get all of it out, but it is out for the most part.
See that blue bottle right there? Yeah, that's the culprit. Dirty looks are allowed.
This bag was full of the nasty paper towels I used to soak up the oil. When I was walking it over to the dumpster the bag opened and dumped on the ground so I had to pick up the trail of nasty paper towels.
Please please please bless my car doesn't smell like oil. I'm hoping the ample amount of grapefruit smelling dish soap will cover it up.

Top 10 Reasons Why Fall is The Best Season. Ever.
Hands down, fall is the best season. If I could live in a place that was fall all year round, I would. So, in no particular order, here are the reasons:
- You get to wear sweaters, and cardigans, and scarfs, and boots.
- It is starting to get chilly. Not freezing like winter, but you have the crispness in the air and it's not "I'm so hot I want to die" weather anymore.
- The leaves change color. No explanation needed.
- The fall fashion color palate is the best. You have the deep, rich colors. The oranges, yellows, browns, purples, greens. They rock.
- My birthday is in the fall.
- You can start drinking things like cider and hot chocolate.
- Halloween!
- Fall reminds me of school starting, and when school starts you can buy new school supplies and I am kinda a nerd and LOVE buying school supplies. So fall = new school supplies.
- The new season of The Office comes out. Booyah!
- Fall just rocks.
So there you have it. In case you weren't aware before, fall is the best season.

It lives!
A new hard drive and running three restoration discs later, it lives. My computer is now working again. I lost everything on it, which was really a bummer, but I'm so glad it's working. But if it happens again I may drive down to Toshiba head quarters and throw it through their window.
Can anyone else believe that it's already August? I move in a week. School starts in almost 3 weeks. Weird! I'm actually excited for it. I'm also excited for winter to be here. I know, i know. Who am I? Who wants winter here? Only crazy people. Ok, maybe not winter. Mostly I want it to be fall. If it was fall all year long, I would be in heaven. I am so sick of the heat. You can always put more on, but you can only take so much off . . .
